Ella is a beautiful little town on the southern edge of Sri Lanka's Hill Country. It has become the go to town in the hill country alongside Nuwara Eliya known commonly as" Little England " .
Ella is typical Sri Lankan tea country with a range of mountains and Ella's Rock as the main tourism attraction to discover. This 1300 metre high cliff affords a great two hour trek across verdant tea plantations.
At the very top you will be rewarded with unimaginable views of azure skies, Badulla's emerald valleys and the plains below. The rumbling Ravana's falls are worthy of every tourists bucket list.
Climb up Little Adam's Peak or walk along the rails on the Nine Arch Bridge or take a train to where James Taylor a recently arrived Scotsman planted the first seeds in 1867 of what is now Sri Lanka's biggest export.
By 1872, Taylor had a fully equipped factory and in 1873, his first quality teas were sold for a very good price at the London auction. Taylor was largely responsible for the early success of the tea crop in Ceylon.
Ella town is a small and relaxing hamlet in the middle of beautiful greens of tea. The most scenic train ride can be experienced from Nuwara Eliya to Ella.
The ideal time to visit is year round as seasonal changes bring their own sensational charm however between December to May is ideal. With its warm days and cool nights the weather in Ella is quite perfect.

Capturing the essence of colonial style the rooms are decorated with four poster beds which complement the high ceilings and wooden flooring. Attached bathrooms come with and without bathtubs. The rooms come with their own expansive views from sunrise to sunset.
The hotel will also have a multi-cuisine restaurant serving some delectable local Sri Lankan and international dishes with the best of local and fresh produce.
